The Dynamos Continue To Produce The Magic!

In a thrilling Under 11D rugby clash this afternoon, Moulsford Prep emerged victorious, defeating Lambrook with a commanding scoreline of 65-25. The eagerly anticipated match got off to a delayed start as Lambrook faced the challenge of lost mouthguards and boots, causing a brief hiccup in the proceedings.

Right from the kickoff, both teams demonstrated their determination and skill, setting the stage for an action-packed encounter. Gillington wasted no time making his mark, scoring his 15th try of the season (three games) with a breathtaking run down the entire length of the field, firmly securing his reputation as a dangerous attacking threat for the boys in red!.

However, Lambrook proved to be determined opponents, finding gaps in Moulsford's defensive line and managing to score two tries. The boys from Moulsford, inspired by a recent geese-themed assembly, soon found their wings, responding with an impressive six tries without allowing a single reply.

Gillington continued his scoring spree, adding three more tries to his tally, while Dixon's powerful and direct running style earned him a try as well. Linares showcased his agility and skill with a standout try, winning a tackle, scooping up a fumble, and manoeuvring his way past the opposition's defence to put the ball down under the posts!

Miron-Canosa's performance out wide and T Richards' strategic play as scrum half played pivotal roles in Moulsford's dominance. Day and Dixon each contributed a try just before the halftime whistle, further solidifying Moulsford's lead.

At halftime, the team regrouped with a straightforward talk, acknowledging their strengths and addressing areas for improvement, particularly in tackle height and passing accuracy.

The second half saw J Richards making his mark, setting up Dixon for his fourth try, while Gillington continued to shine with his fourth try of the game. Fletcher, an unsung hero, showcased superb rucking skills, paving the way for Linares to secure his second try.

Winckworth, with outstanding contributions in rucking and ball retrieval, notched up two well-deserved tries. His first try, following one of the tackles of the season by Emanuel, demonstrated impeccable timing and technique, earning him a moment in the spotlight. Stewart grew into the game and you could see his confidence in possession in the second half as he took catches, offloaded well and invited the defence in before moving it on.

The support from the sidelines, including grandparents, parents, and even pets, added to the electric atmosphere of the game. Special mention goes to Mr Firth, the excellent referee, who ensured a fair and flowing game, offering coaching insights along the way.

In the end, Linares stood out and earned the Man of the Match award, rightfully finding his place on the Team of the Week board by the sports hall. The team now looks forward to the next challenge against Pinewood next weekend, carrying the momentum from this stellar performance.
