The finale to the Rugby season leaves the fans wanting more!

What an exhilarating display of rugby from our boys this afternoon! In a thrilling encounter against a spirited Summer Fields D team, our boys showcased their attacking prowess and defensive tenacity, securing a well-deserved 45-35 victory.

Despite conceding an early try, our boys quickly found their rhythm, storming into an early lead by the 8th minute. Chamberlain (2), T Richards, and Fletcher, along with the rest of the team, exhibited impeccable teamwork and determination, crashing over the try-line multiple times in the first half.

A special mention must be made for Miron-Canosa, whose fearless defensive technique grounded many a Summer Fields runner, ensuring our defensive wall remained resolute throughout the match. He set the standard with his tackling and his performance was a standout throughout.

As halftime approached, our boys maintained their momentum, with Miron-Canosa turning from tackler to provider, setting up Parkinson for his first of four tries with a perfectly timed offload.

However, the second half presented some challenges, as we found ourselves down to one less player for a crucial five minutes. This lapse in numbers led to a temporary loss of focus, with our tackling and rucking abilities suffering. Yet, the team rallied together, welcoming Renwick-Forster onto the field as our first substitute, whose instant impact propelled us back into the lead.

Renwick-Forster's stellar performance didn't stop there, as he turned provider for Parkinson's second try, showcasing the team's depth and versatility.

With Summer Fields gaining momentum and closing the gap to 40-35, our boys dug deep, demonstrating their composure and resilience under pressure. A clever kick by Fletcher, chased down by Linares and expertly finished off by Parkinson, sealed the victory and capped off a memorable match.

This victory is a testament to the hard work, determination, and willingness to learn displayed by every player throughout the season. As we reflect on 10 matches and 22 training sessions of sweat and dedication, it's clear that each player has shown remarkable improvement and growth.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to all the parents, grandparents, au pairs, and furry friends who have supported the boys throughout the season. Additionally, a special mention to Mr. Albon, Mr. Corbett, Mr. Symonds, and Mr. Firth for their invaluable coaching support.

As we look forward to the next season, I have no doubt that this team will continue to go from strength to strength. See you on the football fields after half term!
