Moulsford Cross Country Triumphs at County Championships

As the coach of Moulsford's burgeoning cross country teams, I couldn't be prouder of our boys' remarkable achievements at the County Championships. In our inaugural year entering all age groups, our runners displayed exceptional talent and determination, securing victories across the board.

The day kicked off with our Under 8 team setting the pace, with eight of our boys delivering impressive performances. While Lait was narrowly edged out on the home straight, the collective effort earned us the team trophy with a combined score of 23 points. It was truly gratifying to witness not only individual successes but also the cohesion and strength of our team as a whole.

Moving up the age groups, our Under 9s showcased a remarkable unity, dominating the field in a sea of Moulsford red. Coleman's podium finish (3rd) and the strong 7th and 9th placements secured the Year 4 County Cup, a testament to their unwavering commitment and teamwork. A really committed bunch who like to run as a pack to drive the standards.

The Under 10s continued their winning streak with a commanding defense of their title, led by stellar performances from Buff (2nd), Humphreys (3rd), and Robinson (4th). Their exemplary display ensured another year of holding the trophy high, a feat made possible by their dedication and skill.

In the final race, our Year 6 boys, bolstered by increased numbers, left no doubt about their dominance. James's 1st place finish, closely followed by Tapping (3rd) and Tiley, resulted in our lowest total of 8 points, sealing our triumph in spectacular fashion.

I must extend my gratitude to Mr. Batchelor and our supportive parents whose encouragement and commitment to our sports program have been invaluable. Their unwavering support around the track spurred our boys on and today's success is a testament to their vocal support.

As we look ahead to future competitions, including the upcoming events at Oratory Prep (Monday) and The Oratory Senior School (Y5/6 Thursday), I am filled with excitement and anticipation. With such talent and determination within our ranks, the future of Moulsford cross country is undoubtedly bright. Today, we celebrate not only our victories but also the spirit of camaraderie that defines our team.
